Duckfat
While exploring the city of Portland, Maine, we walked into Duckfat. It's located slightly further away from city centre but always within walking distance or just a few bus stops way. That said, the walk was definitely worth it. When we entered, it's slightly packed but we managed to get a seat within 15minutes. The place is slightly small and crammed and they do provide outdoor seating. Overnight Duck Confit Panini(US$13.5) The panini had rhubarb chutney in it, which added a tinge of sweetness to the duck, the portion was just right. Hand-cut belgium fries fried with duck fat, accompanied with truffle ketchup and garlic mayo (Large: US$7.75) The fries were awesome, fried to the right level of crispiness and the fusion of truffle and ketchup was genius! If I were to be back in Portland, wold definitely hit up Duckfat again! Interesting offering given that most of the other places there sells fresh seafood, especially lobsters.
